Abstract

Optical transmittivity in the UV-VIS region of thermally evaporated amorphous As2S3, and As2Se3 thin films was measured in the temperature region 15 K < T less than or equal to 300 K. The temperature dependence of the optical gap (E-g(T)) was found to be in agreement with Fan's one-phonon approximation or with Cody's one-oscillator model. The parameters necessary to describe the E-g(T) dependences for non-crystalline Se, As2S3, As2Se3, GeS2 and GeSe2, according to a simple linear relation, Varshni's relation, and Fan's or Cody's model are summarized.
