Abstract

The first-order density matrix gamma (r(1), r(2)) for the ground-state of a model two-electron atom is explicitly constructed from the electron density rho(r). The model has harmonic confinement plus interparticle harmonic interactions. gamma(r(1), r(2)) and rho(r) are related non-locally, even though no density gradients and no quadratures appear.
