Abstract

|
| In the present study, we investigate whether detection of circulating Chlamydia pneumoniae (C pneumoniae) DNA is associated with systemic inflammation and the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD). Furthermore, we search for antigenic components of C. pneumoniae in circulating mononuclear cells of patients with CAD and evaluate the capacity of the organism to infect human macrophages. |
