Differential equation for groundstate electron density of Helike ions for large atomic number

Abstract 



An explicit differential equation satisfied by the groundstate electron density of Helike ions is constructed for large atomic number Z, As in the authors' earlier work on the Hookean atom, the result is a linear thirdorder homogeneous differential equation. The firstorder interacting density matrix is then written in terms of the groundstate electron density. A functional for the correlation kinetic energy is thereby exhibited in the large Z Limit for these twoelectron ions. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
