Abstract
Amorphous Se films were prepared by thermal evaporation. The photo-darkening induced by illumination with white light at various temperatures (80 K, 111 K, 146 K and 188 K, resp.) and with monochromatic light with wavelength lambda = 550 nm (80 K) was studied. Photoinduced bleaching of previously-darkened samples (X = 550 nm, 80 K) was observed at 80 K induced by illumination using light with lambda = 488 nm, 671 nm, 707 nm and 768 run, resp. It is suggested that the overall photo-darkening process is most probably a kind of self-limiting process.
