In this paper, a novel methodology is introduced to measure the vibration behaviour of structures using a scanning laser Doppler vibrometer. The laser beam continuously scans the surface of the device under test, while a broadband excitation signal is applied. In particular, the method developed adapts itself automatically to the (spatial) complexity of the vibration patterns and to the (frequency domain) modal density. The measurement time is compared with classical measurement procedures. |
