The electron spin resonance parameters of the Tl-2(+) and Pb-2(3+) dimer centers produced by electron trapping at pairs of neighboring Tl+ or Pb2+ impurity ions in alkali chlorides are reanalyzed. The analysis which uses a consistent set of molecular parameters is based on the molecular model previously employed to describe the ESR properties ol the homonuclear V-k self-trapped hole center, which has a complementary electronic configuration. In a rough approximation the analysis is extended to the self-trapped electron (STEL) center in PbCl2 crystals, which is a bent Pb-2(3+) molecular ion in a low symmetry crystal field. |
