Application of quantization in the time-dependent sp(2,r) model for the breathing mode

Abstract
We propose the time-dependent Sp(2, R) model for the breathing mode in closed shell nuclei. The nucleus evolves in time over a manifold of generalized coherent states, along a path determined by the time-dependent variational principle. Energies are obtained through quantization by periodic trajectories and agree very well with experiment and with results of RPA calculations.
