| In The Way Inwards: History of the Dutch Literature 1700-1800 The Southern Netherlands Tom Verschaffel offers appealing new views on Dutch literature in the Southern Netherlands during the eighteenth century. Even if the cultural leading classes were largely oriented on France and French cultural activities, the literary and theatrical production in Dutch turns out to be much more abundant, diversified and interesting than has usually been accepted up to now. |
