Title
[Processi Partecipativi] Contraddizioni e opportunità delle pratiche creative a base partecipativa
Author
Abstract
In 2014, Audience Development (AD) and Audience Engagement (AE) were individuated as crucial priorities in the EU Creative Europe program. In the name of “creating together with the audience” instead ‘”or the audience”, the EU has fostered participatory practices across Europe, with a strong impact on the DNA of some cultural institutions. In the light of the last six years of challenges of the European cultural cooperation project Be SpectACTive!, and throughout the analysis of both successful initiatives and constructive failures of its first edition, the present article poses some questions about the contradictions and the opportunities of the creative participatory practices in EU. In doing that, it observs the potential origins of the overarching Audience Development priority and the crucial role that the cultural cooperation processes are playing nowadays in our democracies.
