| This habilitation deals with the changing role of literature in an era of Social Media and its consequences for German literary studies. In an interdisciplinary approach, Thomas Ernst outlines the research field of the Web Literary Studies (Netzliteraturwissenschaft) to deal with net literature and the literary communication in the World Wide Web. The habilitation defines six areas of research: 1. history, foundation and selfreflection of Web Literary Studies; 2. literary reflections of the network society; 3. categories, institutions and terminology of Literary Studies in the digital world; 4. analyses of web literature; 5. production, business models and juridic models of web literature; 6. digital publications and teaching practices of the Digital Humanities. |
