For decades, both researchers and practitioners have acknowledged that transportation and urban development are inextricably interwoven. Despite this awareness, a recurrent theme is that transportation and urban planning are still separate worlds. To overcome this lack of integration, many attempts have been made to understand the causes of this separation, and concepts have been developed to close the gap. This situation is clearly visible in the wave of urban regeneration since the late 1980s. |
