Abstract

| This article gives an overview of the Spanish writings that have dealt or mentioned the Philippines since the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 21st century. It gives examples of different approaches and imaginations of the Philippine archipelago in literature along the time and poses some questions about what has been considered Philippine literature and how complex is this to define. Finally, it presents the articles of this special issue on Spanish literature on the Philippines and connects them in context. |
