Abstract
Exhibition “Fair and Inclusive City: perspectives for the future of the roças of São Tomé and Príncipe” held at the Centro Cultural Português in São Tomé. The exhibition showcases projects that discuss models for the future of roças of São Tomé and Príncipe and analyses these settlements considering justice and inclusivity in the built territories. The works developed deepen the interconnection between the phenomena of discrimination and spatial segregation that derive from the planning of the built space and analyse how this has been consolidated, becoming incompatible with the requirements of use of current communities, and penalising some sectors of civil society. The round-table counted with Sara Eloy (moderator), Nazaré Ceita (University of São Tomé and Príncipe), Eudes Aguiar (Instituto de Obras Públicas e Urbanismo), Lyndley Viegas (roça Monte Café). The event was organised by Sara Eloy (University of Antwerp) in collaboration with the Information Sciences, Technologies, and Architecture Research Center of Iscte (ISTAR-Iscte), the Portuguese Cultural Center and the University of São Tomé and Príncipe.
