Abstract
Starting from Wittgenstein's analysis of aspect seeing, this contribution argues that metaphors assist the opening up of new aspects and new perspectives. As such metaphors are tools for resilience. This is illustrated by reflecting on the monastic concept of 'acedia' and the Freudian analysis of melancholy. |
