Human rights education is essential to facilitating a diverse and inclusive society. However, in reality, there is no such subject officially in Japan’s education system. Focusing on the interdisciplinary method of object-based learning, we will introduce a case study in Finland’s museum education, such as the Sámi (Finland’s indigenous people) and their cultural heritage materials as an example to discuss a possible learning design that respects human dignity, cultural diversity, and multicultural coexistence. |
