Digital transformation in complex and interconnected service ecosystems such as the healthcare sector is not always straightforward, as various stakeholders often need to be united in collaborations before digital innovation is possible. As these collaborations include a lot of different stakeholders, each with their own ideas, interests, and goals, they are not always easy to manage. This chapter addresses this challenge by studying the combination of management conditions that are required to create highly innovative eHealth innovations in such partnerships. We consider two types of management perspectives that relate to increased innovation in partnerships, i.e., contract management and network management. By testing these two types of management and their related conditions on interview and survey data from more than 130 respondents, derived from 19 eHealth partnerships in five European countries, we conclude that a specific combination of contract management and network management is sufficient to generate highly innovative eHealth services. |
