Abstract

This contribution examines practices for organizing paratexts of articles and reviews in journals for folklore studies by using index cards, including transcribing, cutting and pasting bibliographic information and using the classification plan Hoffmann-Krayer, as developed at the beginning of the 20th century. How did the organization of these bibliographic systems in folklore studies in Flanders (and other parts of the Low Countries) evolve? What was for instance the significance of the “Nederlandse Volkskundige Bibliografie”, a major project launched and managed by (the) K.C. Peeters (family) in the second half of the 20th century? What is the mechanism by which such systems were initiated, developed, and ultimately terminated? |
