Processes of digitalization and convergence have detached television content from the television screen. Nowadays, viewers choose what, when, where and on which screen they want to watch. This study uses empirical audience research to explore the impact of these alternative routes for consumption of TV content on viewers' viewing patterns. The results show that almost all respondents adjust the broadcasting schedule to their own needs. Concerning the content, series are the programs most likely to be time-shifted. Shifting the screen to watch television on PC does not often happen. Viewers do not think it is nowadays more difficult to talk about TV programs, except for international series. Generally, TV is still perceived as a lean-back medium. |
