Abstract

Measurestakentodecreaseinterdependentriskswithinchemicalindustrialareasshouldbebasedon quantitativedatafromaholistic(cluster-based)pointofview.Therefore,thispaperexaminesthe typologyofnetworksrepresentingindustrialareastoformulaterecommendationstomoreeffectively protectachemicalclusteragainstexistingsystemicrisks.Chemicalindustrialareasaremodeledastwo distinctcomplexnetworksandareprioritizedbycomputingtwosub-indiceswithrespecttoexisting systemicsafetyandsecurityrisks(usingDominoDangerUnits)andsupplychainrisks(usingunits from anordinalexpertscale).Subsequently,aSystemicRiskIndexfortheindustrialareaisdetermined employingtheBordaalgorithm,wherebythesystemicriskindexconsidersbothasafetyandsecurity networkriskindexandasupplychainnetworkriskindex.Thedevelopedmethodallowsdecreasing systemicriskswithinchemicalindustrialareasfromaholistic(inter-organizationaland/orinter- cluster)perspective.Anillustrativeexampleisgiven. |
