Abstract
Generalizedaberration(GA)isoneofthemostfrequentlyusedcriteriatoquantifythe suitabilityofanorthogonalarray(OA)tobeusedasanexperimentaldesign.Thetwo mainmotivationsforGAarethatitquantifiesbiasinamain-effectsonlymodelandthat it isagoodsurrogateforestimationefficienciesofmodelswithallthemaineffectsand sometwo-factorinteractioncomponents.Wedemonstratethatthesemotivationsare not appropriateforthree-levelOAsofstrength3andweproposeadirectclassification with othercriteriainstead.Toillustrate,weclassifiedcompleteseriesofthree-level strength-3OAswith27,54and81runsusingtheGAcriterion,therankofthematrix with two-factorinteractioncontrasts,theestimationefficiencyoftwo-factorinterac- tions,theprojectionestimationcapacity,andanewmodelrobustnesscriterion.Forall of theseries,weprovidealistofadmissibledesignsaccordingtothesecriteria.
