Title
Inorganic analysis and electron-microscopy of the emission of the hudson volcano in argentina (august 1991)
Author
Abstract
The Hudson volcano eruptions in August 1991 flung out appreciable amounts of ashes, particulate material and gases. Its volcanic ashes affected the Argentinean Patagonia, especially the Santa Cruz province. X-ray techniques have been employed in order to determine the composition, crystalline silica structure and particle size distribution of the fallen ashes. Quantitative X-ray fluorescence results are compared with data from the Lonquimay volcano (Chile, 1988) and Mt St Helens (USA, 1980) eruptions.
